I love Mustangs. That doesn’t make me a sophisticated man, but it does put me at least one rung above the common plebian Camry owner. I got hooked on them when I was 8 when my cousin had a 1989 convertible that would roast tires and repel attract all the local female specimen and it stuck. However, driving in Michigan is like driving in Ethiopia in the sense that the roads are paved with... well they don’t actually seem to be paved. When you own a Mustang, you lower a Mustang, even if it never breathes a wiff of track. So the question is, is it time for a new daily driver? I call on you fine people to help me out. Give me your best suggestion!

Right or return it to stock height and problem mitigated.

The SN95 is so cool.
The Shelby makes me cringe.

Agreed. I don’t understand why people lower street cars that they drive regularly. Sure, it might look cooler, but you’re giving up a whole lot of capability.
For the track? Fine. The street? Please, no.

this. I see slammed Miatas and Civics driving 1 mph over a speed bump, nearly sideways into a ditch, and still manage to scrape. They usually have a “it’s lowered, please be patient” sticker like it’ll excuse their horrible decisions.

I own a Civic and a Fiero, both of which are on the “lower is first order of business” list for most owners. Just can’t imagine DD’ing either one with less clearance than they already have. Even at stock height, I already have to be really careful about approach angles on the Fiero.

I’ve never lowered a car, but surely it can’t be that hard to un-lower it? You could go with different wheels and tires to fill up the wheel wells if you want that look

It wouldn't be that difficult, but on the rare occasion I get a good strip of road, the performance suspension is awesome. The real solution would be PAVE THE ROADS MICHIGAN. Then the industry that keeps this state alive would be a lot happier as i'm sure i'm not the only one with an issue...rant over

When I moved to Detroit, I drove my lowered 97 GT around the block the second day I was there, and bottomed it out so hard, I immediately bought a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis as a DD. It had 260,000 miles on it, and was rusty as hell, but prevented a lot of damage to my stang.
